My Story

My Story

I’m Amy. I’m a Mum of two very energetic and brilliant boys Leo and Eddie. I live in Leicester, not far from where I grew up. I am a fitness trainer specialising in Women’s Health, a reformer pilates instructor and a qualified Physiotherapist.

Sports and fitness has always been a part of my life. After a gap year to Australia in 2004, I knew right away that a career in personal training was what I wanted to do. After gaining a level 4 Masters qualification with the Australian Institute of Fitness (AIF), my drive to succeed as a personal trainer took me to London where I worked with many clients in a variety of different settings, from inner city gyms, home visits, luxury fitness holidays and later to work at one of London’s most sort after reformer pilates and personal training studios in Notting Hill.

Seeing first-hand how exercise actually works to help people of all types to get fit and reduce weight was extremely rewarding, and it was in response to this that I discovered the value of incorporating Pilates into fitness program design – not just for injury related clients but also to improve strength, posture and general function.

This was followed by Matwork Pilates (APPI and Balanced Body) and later, along with David Kingsbury, I worked with some of the best institutes in London teaching Reformer Pilates classes. Pilates continues to be a strong feature of my approach.

WOMENS HEALTH PRE AND POSTNATAL FITNESS

Having gained experience teaching pre and post-natal classes on a Women’s Health Ward, I knew this was the area that I would later come back to.

Fast forward a few years and I was the patient! I was pregnant, still moving and exercising but also in need of some specialist exercise to help with my pelvic girdle pain that was hindering daily activity. Living in London where variety is usually not an issue, I was surprised to be unable to find a single class that would enable me to work-out safely during pregnancy. I decided I would do something about it and I am now a qualified pre and post-natal exercise specialist and ready to help you through your pregnancy and after.
